ACHIEVERS TAAF GYMNASTICS TEAMS BEGIN COMPETITION SEASON  

Gymnasts Achieve 27 Top 5 Placements 

DENTON, TX – The TAAF girls’ teams from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center began their competition season at the TAAF Winter Games in Pearland, Texas, on January 18-19, 2020.  This competition was attended by many gyms around the state of Texas and was an optional travel meet for our Achievers TAAF team.

Harper Swartwout, from Corinth, earned the Gold medal on the balance beam in Xcel Silver division 3. Kinsey Stephens, from Lantana, also earned the Gold on balance beam in Level 5 division 5. Emily Herbison of Keller earned the Gold on vault, balance beam, floor, and all around for Level 6 division 3. Addison Fort, from Flower Mound, also in Level 6 division 3 earned the Gold on uneven bars. Kandace Needum of Denton earned the Gold on all events and all around.

The next competition for the Achievers TAAF gymnastics team is the Red River Rivalry to be held in McKinney, TX on February 8-9, 2020.

ACHIEVERS GIRLS OPTIONAL GYMNASTICS TEAMS COMPETE IN TEXAS PRIME COMPETITION 

ACHIEVERS  GIRLS ACHIEVED 32 TOP 3 PLACEMENTS!

 

IRVING, TX – The Optional Level 6-10 gymnasts from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center kicked off their season with one of the best starts they’ve  had at the Texas Prime meet in Irving, Texas. This competition was attended by gymnasts from all over Texas, but also those from Canada and Australia. Always a great competition to be a part of especially with the Legends session involving some great gymnasts like Sarah Finnegan, Peng-Peng Lee, and Brenna Dowell.    Gold Medals were won at this competition by Xaviuna Lane, Jade Ballard, Tatum Traylor, Audrey Collins, Norah Collins, and Summer Terrill. Ballard took home a Gold medal on Vault, a bronze medal on Floor, and a silver for the All Around. The level 6 and 7’s swept the podium in their sessions including Lanes’ gold on Beam, Floor, and All Around and silver on Bars, Traylors’ gold on Beam, Floor, and All Around, and silver on Bars, Audrey Collins’ gold on Bars, Beam, and silver on All Around, Terrill’s’ gold on Beam, silver on Bars, and Bronze on All Around, Voids’ bronze on Beam and All Around, Norah Collins gold on Beam and Bars, and bronze on All Around, and Williams’ silver on Vault.

The Level 8’s had a good showing with Ballard taking gold on Vault, Silver in the All Around, and bronze on Floor, Wisker taking bronze on Floor, and Gustafson placing 4th on Beam. The level 9’s,  Weatherly took a 7th place on Bars, and Salvatori a 10th place on Bars, and level 10 Ranchos placed 6th place on Vault and Bars and a solid 8th All Around.

This was solid start for the Achievers girls with much room for improvement. They are eager to get back in the gym and improve, while getting ready for the next challenge.

The next competition for the Achievers gymnastics team is the Metroplex Challenge to be held at the Ft. Worth Convention Center, Texas, January 24/25/26.

ACHIEVERS LEVEL 4 GYMNASTICS TEAM FINISH SEASON
at the Level 4 State Championship hosted by Achievers Gymnastics

 

DENTON, TX – Gymnasts from the Achiever’s Gymnastics Center level 4 team finished their competition season at their state championship hosted by Achievers Gymnastics at the Sport Support complex in Lake Dallas Texas.

380 Athletes qualified to this competition from all the level 4 gymnasts in the state.  180, Level 4  gymnasts from the North State championship advanced to this competition where they faced 180 gymnasts from the South State.

There were 20 gymnasts in each age group. Achievers had 3 competitors qualify to the extremely competitive State championship.

Claire Ewing, Denton placed 1st on balance beam and can now be called a state champion in her age group!

She also placed 2nd All-around in her Jr.B1 age group. 

This concludes the compulsory  regular season for all the levels and now the Achievers athletes will prepare for their spring invitational meets.

ACHIEVERS GIRLS COMPULSORY GYMNASTICS TEAM HAS SEASON HIGH PERFORMANCES AT THE LEVEL 5 STATE COMPETITION

 

DENTON, TX – The Level 5  gymnasts from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center finished their competition season at the Level 5 State Championship hosted by Golden Grip Gymnastics in Allen, TX.  This was the last competition of the regular season for the compulsory Level 5 gymnasts. 

Isabella McCarty, Denton, took home a silver medal on Bars in the Level 5 Jr. A1 division. Isabelle Escobedo, Denton, was 4th Vault and Bars in the Jr A2 division. Shelbie Donaldson, Decatur, was 4th on Beam and Floor in the Level 5 Jr.C2 division.  

The next competition for the Achievers gymnastics team is the Level 4 State Meet hosted by Achievers Gymnastics on Nov 22/23 in Lake Dallas.

Kennedy Arujo, 2nd Place, Balance Beam Level 3 Jr B-1 age group

ACHIEVERS LEVEL 3 GIRLS TEAM COMPETE AT THEIR FINAL SEASON COMPETITION

 

The Achiever’s Gymnastics, Level 3 athletes completed their competition season at the Level 3 North State Championships meet in Lubbock. This was the final competition of the regular season for the compulsory Level 3 athletes. 

Kennedy Arujo, Argyle, shined as she placed 2nd on Beam and All Around in the Level 3 Jr. B1 age group. There were 19 girls in each age group and 300 girls competing in the State Meet.

The next competition for the Achievers gymnastics team is the Level 5 State Meet November 15th and 16th hosted by Golden Grip Gymnastics in Dallas, Texas.

ACHIEVERS GIRLS COMPULSORY GYMNASTICS TEAM  COMPLETES COMPETITIVE SEASON AT THE LEVEL 2 DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS

DENTON, TX – Gymnasts from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center completed their competition season at the Level 2 District Championships hosted by Waxahachie Gymnastics.  This was the last regular season competition for the Achievers compulsory Level 2 gymnasts. There were 43 athletes in the Level 2 meet.

The Achievers level 2 team had 4 girls place in the top half of the competition reaching many season highs.

The next competition for the Achievers gymnastics team is the Level 4 North State Championships hosted by Metroplex Gymnastics on November 2nd and 3rd.

DENTON GYMNASTICS ACADEMY

 

 

DENTON, TX – Gymnasts from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center continued their competition season at Denton Gymnastics Academy competing in the District 2 Level Championship competition. This was a competition for all the level 4 gymnasts in District 2. There were 25 gymnasts in each age group and  250 athletes that competed.

Achievers had several athletes place in the top half of their age groups. Claire Ewing, Denton, placed 3rd on Bars and 2nd on Floor Exercise in the level 4 Jr. A division. Jolie Burr, Denton, placed 2nd on Floor Exercise in the level 4 Sr. A division. In the  Achievement competition Hanna Arujo, Argyle, 2nd on Vault, and 1st on Floor Exercise and All Around. Marlee Tibbles, Decatur, placed 1st on Vault.

Colby Aranda & Coach Ryan Turney

 Achievers Gymnastics Boys Team Member, Colby Aranda Competes at First International Competition  

DENTON, TEXAS – A gymnast from Achievers Gymnastics Center’s Boys Gymnastics team competed in the Sudamericano Championship in Cali, Colombia October 18th-21st.

Colby Aranda is a member of  the Chile Junior National Team. In August he was selected to compete in his first International competition assignment.

With 2 months to prepare, Colby worked diligently and had an extremely successful meet for his country and individually. He received 3 medals, a 2nd place finish on Pommel Horse, a 3rd place finish on Floor and Team Chile placed 3rd in the team competition.

 Results:

Level 9 Junior Olympic (13/14-year-olds)

Colby Aranda, Grapevine, Texas, 3rd Floor,  2nd

Pommel Horse, 5th Rings, 7th Parallel Bars, 6th Horizontal Bar, 5th All Around

Team:  Chile – 3rd
