                                                             ACHIEVERS GIRLS COMPULSORY GYMNASTICS TEAM COMPETES AT FIRST MEET OF THE SEASON AT EMPIRE GYMNASTICS


DENTON, TX – Twenty-eight gymnasts from Achievers Gymnastics Center competed in the first District Qualifier of the season, hosted by Empire Gymnastics Academy on August 28-29.
The Achievers Compulsory team is dedicated to doing their best and working hard to achieve their goals.

Brooklyn Granados, Fort Worth, shined as she placed 1st on Beam in the Level 3 Jr.A age group. Hannah Griffin, Double Oak, also placed 1st on Beam in the Level 5 Jr. B divison.

The next competition for the Achievers Gymnastics Compulsory team will be September 11-12 in Lancaster, Tx.

Jen Angel, New Achievers Team Coach

Achievers Welcomes New Girls’ Team Compulsory Coach and Program Co-Director.

Achievers Gymnastics Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Jennifer Angel to coach and co-direct the USAG girls’ team compulsory program.  Jen brings a wealth of gymnastics knowledge and coaching experience to the Achievers’ competitive program.

“We are excited to welcome Jen to our growing Achievers coaching family.  We look forward to the expertise that Jen will bring to our program. I am positive she will help advance the level of both gymnasts and coaches at our gym” states Frank Kudlac, owner of Achievers Gymnastics Center.

Jen started coaching recreational gymnastics at the age of 17 at Impact Gymnastics in Mesa, Arizona in 2011. She then moved to Desert Devils Gymnastics and started coaching the competitive team.  Since 2018, she has been a member of the USA Youth Fitness Center coaching staff working with all levels of gymnastics including Preschool/Recreational, Pre-Team, Compulsory/Xcel and Optionals.

As an accomplished ex-gymnast, she competed for 10 years and went up through Level 10. After her gymnastics career, she switched to competitive diving for several years.   She also competed in the USAG TNT (tumbling and trampoline) program.

She also is proficient as a group fitness instructor, working with children through adults helping them reach their physical fitness goals.  Her specialty is youth fitness and Achievers looks forward to her expertise in this area.

In addition to her coaching, she instructed and trained the USA Youth Fitness instructors on proper coaching techniques, specific drills for skill acquisition, class management and lesson planning.

To quote Jen, “I am so excited about the opportunity to be working with the girl’s compulsory team and helping co-direct this program alongside Maggie Quy at Achievers. With a long history of gymnastics success as well as their experienced coaching staff, I'm looking forward to bringing my experience to the compulsory levels and helping to continue the gymnastics success that Achievers has established.”

Kailey Riley from Valley View, TX Level 4 Division 2 Bars State Champion

ACHIEVERS  GYMNASTS COMPETE AT THE TAAF LEVEL 4-8 & XCEL GOLD, PLATINUM, DIAMOND STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 

Whitney, TX – The TAAF gymnasts from Achievers Gymnastics Center competed at the TAAF Level 4-8 & Xcel Gold, Platinum, Diamond State Championships this past weekend in Whitney, Texas; hosted by GymTricks Gymnastics. This competition was attended by more than 260 gymnasts from all over the state of Texas.

The Level 4 and Level 6 teams placed 5th overall in the team competition. First place, state championship awards  were won by Haley Mack on Bars and All Around, Kailey Riley on Bars, Taylor Dossett on Beam, Floor and All Around, Taryn Walimaa on Vault, Alexis Matteson on Bars, and Astrid Giron on Bars.
This was the final competition of the season for these talented gymnasts. They will continue practicing through the summer to get to ready for next season!

Achievers TAAF XCEL SILVER Gymnasts, Annelise Dandrea, and Abi Zwaska competing at their State Championship in Irving, TX.

ACHIEVERS TAAF / XCEL SILVER GYMNAST COMPETE AT THE TAAF XCEL SILVER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP 

IRVING, TX – Xcel Silver TAAF gymnasts, Annelise Dandrea, Maddy Knipe, and Abi Zwaska, from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center competed at the TAAF Xcel Silver State Meet in Irving, TX.  This was the final meet of the season for the girls.

The competition was attended by more than 400 gymnasts from the state of Texas. Annelise, Maddy, and Abi competed with grace and tenacity at the competition. The highlight  of the meet for the Achievers team was Abi Zwaska placing 4th on the uneven bars with a score of 9.25.

This was the final competition of the season for Annelise, Maddy, and Abi, and they will continue practicing through the summer to advance to the next level!

ACHIEVERS BOYS GYMNASTS COMPETE AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 

DENTON, TX – Two gymnasts from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center boys team competed in the 2021 Jr. Developmental National Championships. This championship event was composed of the top Level 8, 9 and 10 gymnasts from around the Country. The 2021 Nationals was held in Daytona Beach, Florida from May 12 through May 16th.

This was the final meet of the season for the boys and Will Weiper and Will Kudlac both represented Achievers and Texas well. Will Weiper competed in his first Nationals and was able to hit 5 out of 6 great events and “can’t wait to be back next year to be better and stronger”. Will Kudlac competed in his 4th Nationals and hit 5 out of 6 events as well and missed All Around finals by just a few spots.

Congratulations to Will and Will on a successful competition season. We are all proud of you and can’t wait to watch you develop into stronger gymnasts over your last 2 years of High School.

Shelbie Donaldson Level 7 Beam 1st place – Regional Champion.

ACHIEVERS GIRLS LEVEL 7 GYMNASTICS TEAM COMPETES AT REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Aurora, Colorado– The Achiever’s Level 7 girls had their very last competition of this season.  The level 7 regional championship was held in Aurora, Colorado. Over 500 athletes from six states (Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Kansas, and Arkansas) competed in this competition.

The Achievers girls finished their 2021 adventure of a season with their best results, scores, and performances of the year!

1st place Regional gold medals were won at this competition by Audrey Collins for uneven bars, floor-exercise and All Around, Tatum Traylor for floor-exercise, and Shelbie Donaldson for balance beam.
Highlights at the meet include all of the level 7’s successful completion (without a major mistake) of the 24 for 24 routines performed over the course of the competition.  Izzy McCarty placed 2nd on uneven bars and All-Around. Izzy Escobedo performed a beautiful floor exercise routine, Norah Collins placed 2nd on balance beam and Tatum Traylor for her beautifully performed 1st place winning floor routine. Finally, Audrey Collins for her aggressiveness on each event, and Shelbie Donaldson for the best balance beam routine she has performed all season. Way to go ladies!

Achievers TAAF XCEL BRONZE Gymnast Paisley Elrod

 

ACHIEVERS TAAF / XCEL BRONZE GYMNAST COMPETES AT THE TAAF

LEVEL 1, 2 XCEL BRONZE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP 

Lancaster, TX – Xcel Bronze TAAF gymnast, Paisley Elrod, from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center competed at the TAAF Level 1, 2 Xcel Bronze State Meet held at Trevinos Gymnastics in Lancaster, TX. This competition was attended by more than 300 gymnasts from all over the state of Texas. Paisley competed with grace and tenacity at the competition and achieved an exciting score of 9.3 on uneven bars!  The competition was achievement only results, thus event placings were not awarded.

This was the final competition of the season for Paisley, and she now will continue practicing through the summer to move to the next level!

ACHIEVERS BOYS’ GYMNASTICS COMPULSORY TEAM FINISHES THEIR SEASON WITH 4 REGIONAL CHAMPIONS!

Gymnasts Achieve 28 top 10 finishes. 

Yukon, OK – Six gymnasts from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center boys team competed in the 2021 Regional  Compulsory Championships comprised over 500 athletes from 6 states including
Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri . Regionals was hosted by Bounce Academy in Yukon Oklahoma on April 24th to the 26th.

This was the final meet of the season for the compulsory team, and they had a phenomenal showing by hitting 34 out of 36 routines. All the boys placed well in their level and division.
A special congratulation to Yubin Layman, William Russell, and Jackson Sembroski for placing first, winning gold medals on individual events.  

Way to go boys on a successful Regional championship and successful 2021 competition season!

ACHIEVERS GIRLS’ OPTIONAL GYMNASTICS TEAM  CONCLUDES SEASON AT USA GYMNASTICS LEVEL 8 REGIONALS  

Overland Park, Kansas– The level 8 Achiever’s girls had their last competition of this season.  The regional meet was hosted by Pinnacle Gymnastics in the Kansas, Overland Park Convention Center.  
All three athletes ended their season on season and personal best performances. Over 600 athletes from 7 states (TX, AR, CO, WY, KS, AR, NM) ) were represented at this competition.
1st place Region 3 Gold Medals were won at this competition by Piper Gow for vault, floor and all-around, earning her highest scores of the season. Avery Futrell had her best beam routine of the season earning a silver medal, and Summer Terrill had a gorgeous floor routine and solid beam showing. Way to go ladies!
The next competition for the Achievers Gymnastics team will be Level 7 regionals in Aurora, CO April 29-May 2. Good luck Girls!

ACHIEVERS BOYS GYMNASTICS TEAM QUALIFY 2 ATHLETES TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

5 Gymnasts Achieve 16 Top 10 Placements at Regional Championships!
Kudlac wins two regional championship titles. 

DENTON, TX – Five gymnasts from Achiever’s Gymnastics Center boys team competed at the USA Gymnastics Region 3 Championships in Lubbock Texas on April 10th and 11th. The Region 3 Championships is comprised of the top athletes from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri.
This was the final meet of the season for a few of the Achiever athletes and we congratulate them on a successful season. Will Kudlac and Will Weiper qualified to the USA Gymnastics National Championships in the Level 10, 16-year-old division! Will Kudlac also secured the Region 3 championship gold medal on Parallel bars and
Horizontal Bar.
Both Kudlac & Weiper were also named Academic All Americans at Regionals by having a 3.5 GPA or above. Congratulations on their success in and out of the gym!
Kudlac & Weiper will now represent Achievers and Texas at the Junior Developmental National Championships on May 11th-16th in Daytona Beach, Florida.
