Gretchen Richter New Achievers USAG Girls Team Program Director

Achievers welcomes new USAG girls’ team director.

Achievers Gymnastics Center is excited to announce the hiring of Gretchen Richter to direct the Achievers USAG girls team program. (Levels 1-10). She will be responsible to manage and oversee the compulsory and optional team programs. She will also coach primarily in the Level 6-10 program. An accomplished coach and choreographer, Gretchen brings a wealth of gymnastics knowledge and coaching experience (36 years) to the Achievers’ program.

“We are excited to welcome Gretchen to our growing Achievers coaching family. We look forward to the expertise and experience that Gretchen will bring to our program. I am positive she will help advance the level of both gymnasts and coaches at our gym” states Frank Kudlac, owner of Achievers Gymnastics Center.

Gretchen started coaching competitive gymnastics in 2008 and since that time, has coached at some of the top gyms in the Houston, TX area. Most recently, coming from AIM Athletics in Spring, TX, from 2021-2022 alone, she helped coach athletes in Levels 6-10 to 77 State Champion titles! Gretchen has assisted gymnasts in obtaining multiple NCAA scholarships as well as being a developmental coach for Olympian Simone Biles. She also brings experience from coaching at National Team Training Camps, the 2013 World Selection Training Camp and TOPS Training.

Prior to her already excellent coaching career, Gretchen was an accomplished gymnast herself. She earned multiple State, Regional, and National accolades during her time in the JO National program. She then accepted a full scholarship and competed as a Division I NCAA gymnast at West Virginia University where she continued to earn many awards.

To quote Gretchen, “I feel that I have been very blessed in all my experiences through USA Gymnastics, from the coaches I had as an athlete, to the college I competed at, and now, the athletes I have been able to train in my career. I am beyond excited to begin this new path as Head Coach at Achievers Gymnastics, and I promise to pass down my 36 years of experience in the sport to hopefully give the athletes at Achievers the same opportunities I had in my life. Gymnastics is more to me than just a sport, I used it as a therapeutic tool that helped me navigate through every aspect of my life, even in my adulthood. I believe that there is no other sport that requires the dedication, body awareness, and mental strength that gymnastics provides, and I have witnessed it not only change my life for the better, but every person I have met along the way in the gymnastics community. I know gymnastics is my passion, but I have come to realize it is my destiny to leave a lasting imprint on children of all ages by teaching them the sport, motivating them to dream and achieve, and vaulting them into a successful life after the sport! I am looking forward to using my professional experience and love for children in preparing for next season and witnessing daily success and transformation from every child at Achievers Gymnastics! “
