In a small barn back in September of 2006, around a dozen people gathered to have Church and keep cowboy culture alive. From this, Denton County Cowboy Church was planted. The congregation grew, land was acquired and a building erected. On May 5, 2012, a fire tore through the church, almost a complete loss. But God blessed the congregation and they rebuilt. However, God wasn’t slowing down. In 2017, a fully covered rodeo arena was erected, complete with bucking chutes and both team roping and calf roping boxes! Since then, it has had bull ridings, annual team ropings, and even hosted the American Rodeo qualifiers in calf roping and girls breakaway roping.
