Medical City Denton Hosts Blood Drive

DENTON – In partnership with the American Red Cross, Medical City Denton is hosting a blood drive on Friday, June 28, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with a special focus on recruiting donors of African or African American descent to help replenish the blood supply and meet the needs of sickle cell patients.

The American Red Cross will be in Room 310 of the Professional Office Building at 3537 South I-35E in Denton. Community members may sign up to donate or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. While appointments are encouraged, walk-ins will be accepted depending on spot availability.

“We are proud to partner with the American Red Cross to highlight the special need for blood for sickle cell patients,” says Medical City Denton CEO Steven Edgar. “Donating blood is an excellent way to make an impact on people in our community and across the country. One blood donation can help up to three different people.”

Donors must have proof of age to ensure they meet the minimum age requirements and present a primary form of ID or two secondary forms of ID.
