Medical City Denton Hosts Blood Drive
DENTON – In partnership with the American Red Cross, Medical City Denton is hosting a blood drive on Friday, April 29, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Blood supplies have previously been at critically low levels during the pandemic and the need for blood is constant.
The American Red Cross will be in Room 310 of the Professional Office Building at 3535 South I-35E in Denton. Community members may sign-up to donate online or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS. While appointments are encouraged, walk-ins will be accepted depending on spot availability.
“We are proud to partner with the American Red Cross for such an important cause,” says Steven Edgar, Medical City Denton CEO. “One blood donation can help up to three different people. Donating blood is an excellent way to care for our community.”
Donors must have proof of age to ensure they meet the minimum age requirements and present a primary form of ID or two secondary forms of ID. COVID-19 antibody testing is performed on all donations. Donated blood with needed antibody levels may help treat patients with weakened immune systems who are battling COVID-19. People who have been vaccinated for COVID-19 may still donate blood, platelets or plasma.
