Square dancing is for all ages.

Modern square dancing is the national and state folk dance.  Many recall it from awkward moments in middle school physical education, but it is so much more!  Square dancing involves following a caller's instructions to move within a group of eight dancers.  With just 12 lessons, dancers can participate in many dances and enjoy the friendship and fun of the hobby.  Some dancers wear traditional full skirts and Western wear, while others are more casual.  There are approximately 20 clubs in the DFW area so there are many opportunities to dance.

Triangle Squares of Denton will be sponsoring beginner lessons starting in January 12  and running for 12 consecutive Tuesdays.  Dancers can try out the first two lessons for free before paying the $60 per person for the series.  After January 17, the class will be closed with a new series tentatively planned for September. Square dancing is for couples, singles and families.  Children 9-18 are half-price if attending with an adult. Lessons are held at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1424 Stuart Road, Denton TX 76209 from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
