DENTON, TEXAS, May 2, 2014 – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is pleased to announce it has achieved Pathway to Excellence® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
The Pathway to Excellence designation identifies the elements of work environments where nurses can flourish. The designation substantiates the professional satisfaction of nurses at Texas Health Denton and identifies it as one of the best places to work.
“This acknowledgement reflects our dedication to nursing excellence and quality,” Stan Morton, FACHE, president of Texas Health Denton, said. “As an organization we are constantly looking for ways to improve our processes and quality initiatives, and the end result is better care for our patients.”
As a Pathway to Excellence® designated organization, Texas Health Denton is committed to nurses, to what nurses identify as important to their practice, and to valuing nurses’ contributions in the workplace. The designation was granted based on an extensive application process that includes a staff survey to determine whether the hospital exhibits the “Pathway to Excellence Criteria” set by the ANCC. The recognition requires evidence of the hospital’s quality initiatives and dedication to providing a positive work environment for nursing staff, based on a confidential survey. The survey must be completed by at least 51 percent of the nursing staff.

Texas Health Denton joins the 114 hospitals nationally that are Pathway to Excellence designated. There are seven other wholly-owned Texas Health hospitals that have achieved either Pathway to Excellence or Magnet designation by the ANCC.
