North Texas Book FestivalSet for April 6 in Denton

North Texas Book Festival will be hosting over 60 authors on April 6, 2019 at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center, 400 E Hickory St, Denton, TX.  The featured author is Randy Schmidt, author of Dolly on Dolly, Judy Garland on Judy Garland, Yesterday Once More, Little Girl Blue: The Life Of Karen Carpenter and his soon to be released, Carpenters: An Illustrated Discography.

North Texas Book Festival – 11:00 – 4:00

At the Chuckwagon Awards Breakfast the 2019 NTBF Grants, 2019 NTBF Book Awards and 2019 NTBF Book Trailer awards will be presented.  The grants are blind reviewed by the Grant Committee and recommended to the Board. 

The featured author, Randy Schmidt, will follow with a talk on the joys of research about his travels to dig and search through various libraries and archives in New York and LA and how those “materials and the libraries and librarians helped make my job so rewarding”:

“Only Just Begun: Adventures in Research”. 

Following the breakfast, the authors will set up and sell their books and talk with their readers.  There will also be fun and games for all ages – contests for the readers of all ages and authors of all genres.  Al Curlett of Al’s Totally Twisted Balloons, a big NTBF favorite will be there twisting fabulous balloons for everyone.  There will be more fun and surprises – door prizes, drawings, contests.  Don’t miss the fun day and help literacy programs in North Texas.

NTBF raises funds for public and school libraries and literacy programs in North Texas.  The money is given in grants of $500-$1000.
