Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie Launches Limited-Edition Macaron Assortment to Spotlight Cancer Awareness

Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie is on a mission to make the world a sweeter place to live by fighting against cancer bite by delicious bite. The award-winning bakery that specializes in macarons and other French pastries and coffee is launching the Bisous Bisous Benefit Box, an assortment of twelve macarons in which each flavor symbolizes a different cancer ribbon and type of cancer. The staff created the concept as a tribute to their leader and cancer survivor, Bisous Owner and Executive Pastry Chef Andrea Meyer. The limited-edition Bisous Bisous Benefit Box, featuring many exclusive flavors like Blueberry Cheesecake and Earl Grey, will be available to purchase for $30 throughout the month of August with 100% profits benefiting the Mayo Clinic’s Cancer Research Fund.

The Bisous Bisous Benefit Box is a personal, therapeutic passion project for the Bisous team. In 2018, Chef Andrea was diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma, an extremely rare form of bone cancer. Her complicated two-day surgery was successfully performed by a surgical team at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where she continues to get check-ups quarterly under their expertise and medical supervision. Throughout her battle and long road to recovery, her bakery team – many who have stayed with Chef Andrea since opening day – not only continued daily operations but grew sales during a busy holiday season.

"The idea for the Bisous Bisous Benefit Box began when a senior staff member made the suggestion to find a way to raise awareness and funds for cancer research after watching Andrea's personal battle,” said Bisous Bisous Pastry Chef Sarah Green. “Andrea is an inspiration and mentor to all of us, and we wanted to do something special.”

Says Chef Andrea, “Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie was born out of my love of pastry and my dream of running my own kitchen. While my struggle with cancer changed my world forever, it also strengthened our Bisous family and gave me a new, hopeful perspective on the impact we can all have when we live our dreams. While I’ve worked to get back into the shop each day, I have been incredibly proud of our team as they continue to give life to my dream. I truly hope that my story can help inspire hope in others who are struggling with their cancer diagnosis.”
