North Point Cafe and DoubleDave's Pizzaworks both offer freebies on Jan. 17 for college students and others
North Point Cafe will offer each college student, technical school student, and higher-education faculty member a free cup of coffee with purchase on Jan. 17. DoubleDave's Pizzaworks will offer each a free fountain drink with purchase. Customers must present school I.D.s.
 
 
 
DENTON - In celebration of the new semester, North Point Cafe and DoubleDave's Pizzaworks, both in Denton, are offering back-to-school deals Tues., Jan. 17, for students attending the University of North Texas, Texas Woman's University, North Central Texas College or any other school of higher education in the spring term. North Point will offer each student a cup of coffee at no charge, while DoubleDave's will offer each a fountain drink at no charge.
 
Each deal requires an additional purchase. School I.D.s must be presented. The deals also extend to faculty members.
 
Ali Kohandani of Corinth owns both restaurants.
 
"Both North Point Cafe and DoubleDave's Pizzaworks have long histories of supporting Denton County's student population," Kohandani said. 
 
North Point is at 2000 W. University Drive. The restaurant has a large dining room, and it also offers both takeout and delivery service at northpoint-cafe.com. It's open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
 
The DoubleDave's franchise at 220 W. University Drive is known for its buffet, but it also offers carry-out and delivery services. Order at doubledave.com or 940-243-DAVE. DoubleDave's is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Only the Denton franchise is part of this promotion.
