Achievers Welcomes New Optional Girls’ Team Coach – Abby Milliet

7/14/19

Achievers Gymnastics Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Abby Milliet to join the USAG Optional girls’ team coaching staff.  Abby brings a vast wealth of gymnastics experience to the Achievers’ competitive girls’ program.

“We are excited to welcome Abby to our Achievers coaching family.  She recently graduated from Auburn University with a degree in marketing where she had an outstanding career as a college gymnast.  Abby was known for her trademark competitive consistency, strength and artistic style of gymnastics” states Frank Kudlac, owner of Achievers Gymnastics Center.

Abby completed her senior year at Auburn with an amazing season, going 34-for-35 on her routines throughout the year. She competed on beam and floor in all 13 meets, while having 12 starts on bars. She finished her senior year with a 9.88 average on beam to conclude the year in the top 40 nationally.  She set a career high beam score at the annual Elevate the Stage meet with a 9.95.  She earned a pair of 9.9s on bars at Florida (2/8) and at NCAA Regionals (4/5). She finished with a 9.865 average on floor scoring a season-best 9.925 at Florida. She completed her career with an impressive floor score of 9.875 during the NCAA Sweet Sixteen meet.

Before college, Abby was a highly decorated JO and elite level gymnast. She trained and competed as a Sr. International Elite at Denton Gymnastics Academy under coaches Aurel and Rodica Lazar. A few highlights of her club career include her earning the 2012 and 2013 WOGA Classic Sr. Elite All-Around Champion title. She competed at the 2013 P&G Championships placing 8th All-Around & the 2013 Secret U.S. Classic placing 4th All-Around

“I’ve personally known Abby for more than 12 years and have always respected her as an athlete and role model for our younger gymnasts.  She grew up in Denton and it is exciting to welcome her back home!  I had the opportunity to watch Abby compete at the JO, Elite and college level.  What's really cool about her joining our staff is that most of our Achievers girls have watched her compete on the college level and can respect and admire the beautiful gymnastics she displayed."

“We look forward to the gymnastics knowledge that Abby brings to our program. Her understanding of what it takes to become a high-level competitive gymnast will help improve the level of our program! She also understands adversity in our sport and how to overcome obstacles that come in the way of achieving goals. I am positive she will help advance the level of our gymnasts.”

“We will also utilize her marketing degree talents by having her create content for all our programs for use in our social media marketing and other advertising campaigns” states Frank Kudlac.

In addition to her gymnastics success, Abby also excelled in the classroom making the 2019 SEC Academic Honor Roll and was named a 2018 WCGA Scholastic All-American.

During the interview process Abby stated, "I am not ready to be done with gymnastics, so I decided to move my passion for the sport to the coaching side of things. Achievers is a great fit for me to further develop my passion for coaching.  I can’t wait to share all of my experience both at the collegiate and club level to continue to add to the amazing culture Achievers Gymnastics already has.  I look forward to bringing a new level of artistry and strength to an already thriving program!”
