ACHIEVERS GYMNAST PLACES AT USA GYMNASTICS LEVEL 9
WESTERN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

DENTON, TX – Claire Willenborg from Achiever’s GymnasticsCenter competed in the USA Gymnastics Level 9 Western Championships in Boise, Idaho, on April 30, 2017.  This competition was attended by gymnasts from the western half of the United States.  Gymnasts needed to qualify to their Regional Championships at their respective State competitions and then further qualify to the Western Championships at their respective Regional Championships, thus ensuring that the absolute best of the best can compete against each other at the Western Championships.  The USA Gymnastics Western Championships is comprised of gymnasts from Regions 1, 2, 3, and 4.

The dividing line between Eastern and Western for USA Gymnastics is the Mississippi River.

Willenborg, from Highland Village, placed 4th on the Uneven Bars and completed the competition 17th (out of 28) in the All Around in Level 9 Senior 5 age division.  The Western Championships are the culminating competition for gymnasts at this level.  Now Willenborg is working for a move up to Level 10 next season.
