    \n DENTON – Medical City Denton will join trained CarFit volunteers to
  assess how well older drivers and their vehicles work together. Drivers o
 ver age 50 are evaluated using a 12-point checklist. Among the items check
 ed: Correct position of driver’s seat Driver’s ability to easily reach ped
 als Proper adjustment of mirrors \n  \nThe event is scheduled on Friday\,
  October 6\, from 9 a.m. – 12 noon in the parking lot by the pond in front
  of Medical City Denton’s Professional Building (3537 South I-35E). Call 9
 40-384-3294 to schedule an appointment. \n  \n“As we age\, changes in our
  vision\, flexibility\, strength\, range of motion and even size and heigh
 t may make us less comfortable and reduce our control behind the wheel\,”
  says Sydney Hanking\, injury prevention coordinator at Medical City Dento
 n. “CarFit events like this one provide older adults with the tools to und
 erstand and apply the safety features of their car.” \n  \nOccupational th
 erapists will provide personal consultation\, if needed\, to teach drivers
  how to maintain and improve aspects related to their driving health. Ther
 apists can share information that may address an individual needs\, includ
 ing local community resources for exercise\, nutrition and other programs
  to help keep seniors healthy\, which contributes to driver’s safety and t
